The Frontier Missions Centre exists because we believes that every person has the right to hear the message of salvation.
Every day, thousands of people die without ever hearing of Jesus or having met anyone who has demonstrated His love. People separated from the Good News by geographical, social, language or other barriers. YWAM is passionate about helping Christians who have the desire, to bring the Gospel to those who have no access to it, and in their language.
YWAM Singapore has 22 full time missionaries on the field. They can be found in some of Asia’s biggest and busiest cities, and in some of the most remote and dangerous corners of the continent. The Frontier Missions Centre seeks to prepare and equip you to fulfill God’s call in your life as a field missionary. We see placement as a process, with ongoing dialogue and consultation between the missionary, sending church and field leadership to ensure a good start and sustainability. The placement process includes:
1. MISSION CAREER COUNSELING
Exploring one’s calling, vision and goals and guidance in thinking through issues important for the long haul. This includes getting adequate training, and practical issues like family and church support.
2. FINDING A TEAM
Finding a fit in a vision, giftings, and field needs through field visitation and internship placements.
3. PREPARATION TO GO
Receiving the relevant training such as the School of Frontier Missions (SoFM) and practical internship for a year or two to deepen team bonding, language and culture learning.
4. SETTING UP A SUPPORT SYSTEM
Ongoing help and member care for the intern or missionary through partnership with the sending church with the goal to build dedicated frontier mission support teams formed by specialist care-givers, strategic coaches and trainers.
5. ONGOING DISCIPLESHIP AND DEVELOPMENT
Guidance on multicultural team management and effectiveness, church planting strategies, community development skills, administration and fund raising for field projects as well as greater language competency for teaching and discipling
