We desire to raise and release World Christians among the many unreached peoples of Asia to plant churches and disciple nations. As we value individuals and see placement as a process, we are committed to long-term relationships of trust and cooperation between interns, missionaries, their field leadership and their sending churches to ensure effective equipping, placement and consistent care so that these field workers are fulfilled as God intends.

PLACEMENT AS A PROCESS
At YWAM Singapore, we see placement as a process. We value ongoing dialogue and consultation with the intern or missionary, the church and the field leadership to ensure that the missionary gets on with a good start and not just goes, but goes well. The placement process includes:

• Mission career counselling – exploring one’s calling, vision and goals and guidance in thinking through issues important for the long haul. This includes getting adequate training, and practical issues like family and church support.
• Finding a team – finding a fit in a team on the field in terms of vision, giftings, and field needs through field visitation and internship placements.
• Preparation to go – recommending appropriate training such as YWAM’s School of Frontier Missions and practical internship for a year or two to deepen team bonding, language and culture learning.
• Ongoing help and member care for the intern or missionary through partnership with the sending church. Multicultural team management and effectiveness, church planting strategies and community development skills, administration and fund raising for field projects as well as greater language competency for teaching and discipling are areas of further development. To help missionaries thrive in these areas, YWAM Singapore desires over time to build dedicated frontier mission support teams formed by specialist care-givers, strategic coaches and trainers among YWAM staff, associates and friends in partnership with churches.
