Hi. Welcome to the YWAM Singapore website. It’s my pleasure to announce that the upcoming DTS will be conducted in English, but will facilitate Koreans by providing translation with headset. It will run from the 10th of Sep this year till 2nd of Feb. 2011..
Singapore is called the ‘Gateway of Asia’. Her strategic location has served many who have come through her port to rest, be recharged and released. Singapore has grown into her spiritual role of facilitating as a launching pad into Asia. Many have been trained and equipped in Singapore and released not only all over Asia, but in many nations around the world as well.
DTS is not only for people who believe their future to be in the field, but for everyone. We are all to be the salt and light for Him in our different spheres of influence in society.
We are all called to be disciples of Jesus. In order to be one, we have to know who God is, who we are in Him and what our destiny in Him is. DTS is one such avenue which allows you to explore this and learn and experience that in a very real manner. We’ll have 12 weeks of lectures in Singapore followed by going out to the nations to apply what we have learnt in the classroom.
If you hear a very still small voice calling you to be a part of this school, I just want to encourage you to go for it. It’ll be a life changing experience that you will never ever regret.
God is faithful. He’s much bigger than our financial difficulty, fear of the future or any blockages.
Take a step out with Him in faith!
DIscipleship Training School (DTS) is an intensive Christian training course beginning with a 12 week lecture/teaching phase followed by an 8 week practical field assignment/outreach. DTS is designed to encourage students in personal character development, to help them cultivate a living relationship with God and identify their unique individual gifts and calling in God.
Overview DTS is the starting point in YWAM. It addresses the character of the heart. Character formation is foundational to serving Christ, be it at home or cross-culturally. If you are eager to know God and have your character shaped by Him and if you want to proclaim Jesus Christ among the nations, then this course may be the first step of an exciting journey for you.
Cross-cultural missions in Asia. Cross-cultural exposure and global awareness are specific emphases throughout the course, preparing students to reach current and future generations and answer the call to “go into all the world and make disciples of all nations” (Mark 16:15; Matthew 28:19).
Objectives Intimacy With God. DTS will help you cultivate a living relationship with God. Are you seeking spiritual renewal? Or do you want a second career in missions? You will better understand the character and ways of God. You will learn to hear God’s voice. Our staff will lead you into a richer devotional life.
Develop Your Character. DTS is the character formation training school of YWAM Singapore. It will help develop your character as a foundation for effective service. You will apply principles of repentance, forgiveness, and resisting temptation. You will grow in commitment, servanthood and stewardship. You will learn to build healthy relationships with others.
